Alumbrados in Medellin

After two long two years since visiting my family and friends in Medellin, Colombia, I was very excited to return to my hometown, especially in December. To many Colombians, December is all about daily celebrations with friends and family, endless parties, exhibitions and concerts citywide.

A December tradition that has been carried out for the last 50 years is the Christmas lighting displays throughout the city. The most dazzling display is over the Medellin River with millions of lights artistically arranged in colorful designs. I was most excited about this display as it improves with every passing year, outdoing itself each time.

Come in for a guided tour on your next visit to Scottsdale for some brilliant retail and product packaging concepts.

What started as a simple idea to update our website with some of our latest luxury packaging concepts ultimately became more involved than originally anticipated.  Hundreds of programs had to be narrowed down to a representative short list, the very best, and from that list, website-worthy images created.  This would require a capable photographer – one with the ability to bring life to inanimate subjects.  Our timeline added to the pressure, but despite short notice, photographer William Howard accepted the challenge of the full-day shoot.

When Julia Baker Confections approached us to create their product packaging, work suddenly got sweeter. Not too far from our own offices in Scottsdale, CEO and head chef Julia Baker writes, creates and designs every recipe for her legendary custom cakes, ganaches, and even sugary replicas of haute footwear.  Every product is made from high quality ingredients (sans preservatives) and entirely from scratch. We sought to create a packaging program that conveyed that same level of attention to detail and craftsmanship.
