Packaging as Product
Packaging is almost always the vehicle. But what happens when packaging becomes the product? Cool things. Very cool things. Especially if you’re at cubeecraft.com.
The guys (and gals) at cubeecraft.com have designed a ton of cubees - people, cars, monsters, and the swine flu - for your folding pleasure. All Cubees are available for download to be printed and assembled, in minutes. The figures are constructed using the locking tuck tab design commonly found in folding boxes which eliminates the need for glue or other adhesives. Think origami for dummies. They are free to download and even have templates available for you to create your own cubeecraft critters.
Billy Mays, the As Seen on TV pitchman who screamed about everything, has been immortalized in his own Cubee by Liz Lukens. It’s probably in my top ten things available on the web for free this summer.
Try it. It’s a great exercise to get your packaging juices flowing again. And, if nothing else, gives you something to do while you’re at work.
