Betsey Johnson's "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not"
As enthusiasts for high-fashion, design, and packaging design, The W Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ was the place to be for all of the above. Betsey Johnson's 2011 Fall Line was exhibited last week in a full-blown runway fashion show. The runway stretched along the W's rooftop pool in an L shape. With the obvious Betsey fans in in the audience sporting their fluffiest BJ party dress; the majority of the crowd was mid-aged, desperate housewives of Scottsdale (is that a show yet?). The crowd seemed perky and buzzed with excited for another one of The W's annual fashion event presented by Steve Levine Entertainment.
The show kicked off with the darker side of the BJ Fall Line- He Loves Me Not. These looks included plenty of black, white, dark red & green colors. Not to mention the quintessential Betsey prints such as black lace, skull patterns, leopard and plaid. The intermission show consisted of a youthful, high-energy dance team doing their thing on the runaway.
Following the dance show was the last half of the Betsey '11 Fall Line- He Loves Me. These looks expressed the brighter side of Betsey. Her signature hot-pink was strewn throughout along with bright neon greens and yellows, Marilyn pop-art screened prints, and tutu fluff in all its glory. The show closed with all the girls walking the runway carrying a single oversized hot-pink flower hand crafted by the ladies of Betsey Johnson Boutique of Scottsdale Fashion Square.
